Job Gains in New Orleans
In April, the Big Easy saw a good chunk of job growth when the city added 4,500 new jobs. The most awesome thing about this—besides the fact that 4,500 people got jobs, and that many of these people were even able to support families on their new salaries—is that they weren’t just from hospitality and tourism, like many would think.
Sure, some definitely were in the hospitality sector, but people from a wide variety of job skills were able to get employment from these gains—including those in the construction and health care industries.
This marks four months in a row of job gains in New Orleans, something worth celebrating just as much as the city does Mardi Gras for sure!
